County Patriotic Fund.
« STOCK FOR. PUBLIC AUCTION. A generous response has been made to the County Patriotic Society's canvass for livestock to be sold at public auction for benefit of the county fund. Following is a list of the donations so far assuredl4o fat sheep, 11 tat wethers, 13 fat ewes, 18 sheep, 11 lambs, 2 3-year-old steers, 12 steers, 1 fat heifer, 4 weaner heifers, 1 good milking cow, 1 store cow, 1 springing cow, 1 2-year-old heifer, 2 18-months lieifers, 2 yearlings, 4 weauers, 2 horses, 2 unbroken hacks, 1 mare with foal at foot, 1 4-year-old filly, 1 sow in pig (third litter), 2 porkers, 10 pigs, 1 dressed sheep. Also 1 plough with moulder, in first rate condition, lewt pumpkins, 1 English-made saddle (had very little use, and in fine condition). Additions may be made to the list. Names of donors will be published after the sale. The auction will be held next Tuesday, and particulars are seat out by advertisement from the auctioneers. Particulars of the voting at Shannon last Wednesday, on the decision in favor of the formation of Shannon borough, are advertised to-day by Mr P. W. Goldsmith, county clerk and returning officer.
