THE WAIOPEHU DOMAIN.

(To the Editor). Sir, —How is it that his wjorship the mayor being the only, survivor of the ill-fated council omitted, or forgot to mention at the domain meeting that the old board already had. paid several visits of inspection to the reserve and in conjunction with the members .of the Beautifying Society came to the conclusion that trees be planted along the northern boundary in order to not only destroy the wild ferng that from the road encroach on the reserve but to protect the native bush. Mr Kirk, at the board's request, paid a visit to the domain and approved of the board's proposal. This omission /lias occasion to some grass-thirsty councillors to. propose to let run young stock on it, as being the best means to destroy ferns. If this proposal is carrjed out our 'beautiful Isanobuary of native budli will be deprived of its natural beauty. On the clear space it was proposed to have -carnp ifire places and a Shelter-shed for use of picnickers. Before wasting money on more visiits of inspection II think thait the less the new councillors .interfere with the past administration the fetter.— I aim l , etc., MAEIOO FOSEL/LA.
