Advices from Syria discloses a lively Veniaelos Party alarm, due to the prospeot of King Oonstantine securing the harvest of Thessaly. It is pointed out that the harvest is almost ready. The Government prepared a decree for requisitioning the crops, but the Venizeliste declare it essential that the Allies should occupy Thessaly and oontrol distribution of the harvest. RUSSIA'S ATTITUDE. London, May 30. The Daily News's Petrograd correspondent states that the soldiers' and workmen's official .organ is discussing the statement published' in Allied newspapers that Russia's war aims coincide with those of the Allies. The paper declares that the Allies* must answer definitely yes or no. An affirmative ireply Would he (followed by pourparlers ; ■if a negative were given the Allies would assume the same responsibility for continuance of war as Germany. The newspaper adds:— The declarations of the 'Anglo-French Governments do. not satisfy the Russian revolutionary democracy. The Daily Express' Petrograd correspondent states that the Allies 'reply to the Russian (Note. is expected in a few days' time. BRITISH MONITORS. Milan, May 30. Later particulars of the doings of the British monitors in the Gulf of Trieste show that there has been a bombardment of battery against the, Austrian defences from Prosecco to Opicino, and much air fighting, until the Italians achieved the madtery.
