Th« ipotafco market is well supplied ,fjrom tlw:.South Island, and good business is doing, values remaining on a parity • *:ith laat week's quotations. No change in wheat has (been reported, with the exception of the one shilling advance arranged by the Government for dresesed seed wheat. Oats are'short, and prices some advance. Maize is in fair demand, and . oversea consignments are expected shortly , which may have a weakening, effect on the market. Pollard is in good demand. Bran is plentiful. Eggs are in very short supply and the high price has been maintained. There is a very good enquiry for all classes of poultry. Prime dreessed pork is in keen demand, and supplies are short. Vegetables.—Cabbages and cauliflowers are in fair supply ,and the .best , lines bring good prices. .Green peaa and French beans are realising top nates. Only inferior lines of lettuce are coming to hand and these are hard to quit. Swedes are in good demand and bringing satisfactory rates. , Pumpkins are selling well. The market is over-supplied witli marrows. and prices have declined. There is a good supply of carrots and prices are fair. Parsnips are eoarce and high ruling. Beetroqt, spring onions, leeks and celery are in good demand. The market is well supplied with dessert and cooking apples and well packed lines are bringing satisfactory prices. Choice dessert and cooking pears meet with fair demand at recent quotations. Quinces are finished. Tomatoes are scarce and meet keen demand at satisfactory rates.
