« TO Y.M.C.A. AT FRONT. In a letter from Corporal Davison to his parents written from 'Northern France, appears an interesting reference to the to the Y.M.C.A. work at the front, ancTi Levin's help therein. "I do not think a great deal of this part of France; it is not the place it is cracked up to be; it might be better when the weather breaks later on. Just before I forget: the day we came out of the trenches wo called 'at the Y.M.C.A. hut, which is quite close to the lines and provides free tea and chocolate for the men coming and going Well, last week, the poster announced that for that week the boys visiting there wore the gueste of the people of Levin, N.Z. I wish you would make this known because it will be very encouraging to those people who are working for the soldiers to know that their gifts are reaching us. All the bny; love the Y.M.C.A. Whilst in the trenches we also received) the Xmas gift parcels sent by the people of 'New Zealand, through the Countess of Liverpool, each man received a parcel of veryi useful and acceptable gifts. My! how we appreciate anything like than; the Xmas pudding was delicious as also was the other good things."'
