The Chronicle LEVIN. THURSDAY, APRIL 12, 1917. THE MAYOR OF LEVIN.
So many duties outside ordinary civic business have fallen to the lots oi mayoral officials d'iring these times cf war that the public owes to these gentlemen a debt of gratitude more than the ordinary. Beyond a doubt, this fact is well recognised by the great majority of the burgesses, but it is not often that opportunity offers for practical demonstration of. the widespread nature of feeling. Such an opportunity will be given to-morrow evening, when the mayor of the b'orough (Mr C. Blenkhorn) will give an account of liis stewardship to a public meeting of the burgesses of Levin, to be held in tlie Century Hall. Every householder should make a special effort to be present at the even if personal inconvenience should be the cost of so doing. The ocupant of the mayoral office always can look back upon a long line of public appearances made by him in the public interest, often at personal inconvenience; the ipublic's necessity for so endeavoring is an isolated instance.
