GOLF.
Heatlierlea Golf Club (Levin) held its annual general meeting last night Mr iC. H. Pyke, president, in the chair. There was a good muster of members. The meeting discussed the proposal that the 'Levin Domain Board lay down public golf links on its recreation in Queen-street (near Lake Horowhenua) and resolved that if the board did so tho club would hand over all its assets to the board. The assets are valued at about £40. Messrs Hughes and France reported that as a result of their inspection of the reserve they had ascertained that suitable links could be be laid down very cheaply, and a nine-hole course obtained that would be as long ae the one in use at Heatherlea at present. The Heatherlea links are still available, but there is a possibility that at any time they will not bo; hence the club's willingness to hand over its assets and to play on the local links if established. Tho club appointed Messrs Pyke, Hughes and Brown a deputation to wait upon the board at its next meeting. The club secretary (Mr France) submitted a report and balance-sheet which showed that despite the absence of several members (on active service) the club had a fairly good season, and had managed to reduce the bank overdraft to under £2. It amounted to some £8 at tho beginning of the season. There are prospects of the club securing a membership of from twenty to thirty this season, provided the Queen-streefc links be formed. The election of officers for tho ensuing year was 'postponed, and the meeting stands adjourned to a date later in the current month.
