The potato market is steady at recent rates; crops in the south'promise fairjy well, and supplies are now being offered freely. Wheat values show 110 change. There is ail improved demand for maize. The recent sharp rise in oat values lias been maintained and fair business is being done. i : o!lard is scarce and southern merchants do not seem anxious to sell. JJran is offering freely. Eggs are in fair demand and price remains unchanged though with a slightly weaker tendency. A]l poultry is in excellent demand at good prices. Dressed pork •is in short supply and the demand good. Mollasses is unprocurable but linseed oil cake meal for stock feeding is being largely used with satisfactory results. Good lines of green peas are keenly sought after and realize top rates. Choice cabbages are scarce and bring satisfactory prices. Cauliflowers are also very scarce and values arc high. Best quality French beans are in keen demand, but inferior lines are slow of sale. Lettuce is in poor supply and the demand keen. There is a fair demand for swedes. Pumpkins and marrows are in fair demand, .beetroot, spring onions, leeks and celery are selling well. Dessert apples are in good demand and bring satisfactory prices. Cooking apples are also selling well and prices have improved. Tomatoes are in fair supply and meet good demand. There are still a few plums coming in and these meet an excellent demand. Dessert and cooking peajra are realizing good prices. Grapes are selling well.
