UPPER iELUTT SALE,

Meesis Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington report having held their usual fortnightly sale at the Upper Hutt on Thursday, when they offered an exceptionally heavy yarding of sheep and a big yarding of cattle. Despite the very dry weather which is being experienced, there was a large attendance of buyers and ail classes of sheep were keenly competed for. The market for sheep is still very firm with the exception of breeding :ewes ! which have eased oil. They yarded close on 3QOO sheep and practically the whole yarding changed hands by the close of the clay. The cattle also met with a good sale and sold well under the hammer. They quote :— Ewes (f.f.m.) 23 fid to 265; 2-tootli to f.f.m. ewes 20s 4d to 2Gs; woolly lamte 10s 3d to 20s; 2-tooth wethers 275; 2 and 4tooth wethers to 33s 6d. A line of 508 4-tcioth wethers sold on behalf of Messrs Whiteman Bros, realized 34s 4d. Forward ewes an wethers 27s (id; '18months heifers £3 7s 6d to £5; empty store cows £6 to £6 15s; heifers and calves £5 to £8 10s; empty heifers £0 12s (id to £7 ss; springing heifers £12 to £12 10s; springing cows £12; yearling heifers to £5; bulls £5 16s 6clj to £9; weaners £2 to £3 6s; yearling steers £4. '

Dalgety and Co., Ld., Wellington. report having held tlieir usual weekly Levin sale last Tuesday, when they 'offered a fairly good yarding of both sheep and cattle, to a good attendance of the public. Despite the very dry weather up the coast, they managed to dispose of all lines ol sheep. The demand for store cattle bars slackened off, owing to the great shortage of feed, but fat coW6 and bulls met with good sale.
