STATEMENT BY MINISTER. RECENT INVESTIGATION'S. (Special to the '-Evening News".) ■ Dunedin, This (Day. The Hon. J. A. Hanan left by the second express for Wellington to-day In opening the new school at St. Clair yesterday, Mr Hanan dealt _ with the problem of rebuilding schools. Inst pa. 1 of wooden buildings to last for thirty years they must, he said, as far a.s finance would permit, erect brick stone, or concrete buildings to last over fifty years. To meet this problem he had' recently caused investigation selection of all the best features in s'clvool planning and construction. These investigations would be used to benefit every education district in New Zealand. He was, lie added, a strong believer in adequate provision for playgrounds for schools, and which like to see tile Government set aside a sum of money of suitable areas for that purpose
