CLEARING SALE AT IHAKARA,
Messrs 3>algety and Co. 'Ltd, report having held a clearing sale on Monday last on behalf of Mr P. E. A. Curtis of Levin, who has enlisted and shortly goes into camp. Considering the lateness of the season and the continued dry weather, prices realised muct he deemed satisfactory. . The herd of dry cows averaged over £9; empty cows to £10; heifers, due in the Spring to £9 2s 6d; weaner heifers £2 ss; bulls to £8. Implements and sundries sold well.
LEVIN 1 STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that at their Levin sale on Tuesday they offered a good yarding of sheep and cattle. A considerable proportion of the entries consisted of aged ewes, which were hard to quit. (They quote:— Mixed age stud romney ew(e&, '3 guineas; S.M. ewes 24s to 28s; cull owes 10e; woolly lambs 17s 9d; fat cows to £12; cows with calves £9 7s 6d; springing heifers to £10 ss; weaner heifers £2 16s.
