Wanganui Salaries
COUNCIL IS GENEROUS. Tlie Wanganui -Borough Council at its last meeting decided to amend its salary list on the up grade. Some of the rises were as follows:— air G. Murcli (town clerk). —Salary increased from £550 to £600 a year. Mr N. Orofton Stavely (borough engineer).—Salary increased from £450 to £500 a year (the engineer still to pay, as in the past, a portion of the running cost of the motor car). Mr G. D. Stone (gas engineer;.— £550 (and certain perquisites), to £600 with perquisites. Mr F. P. Talboys (tramways engineer). —£450 to £520. The salaries of members of the office staff were increased as follows:— Mr O. S. Purser, from £168 to £2U*J. •Mr W. H. McCaul, from £275 to £300. . Mr F. S. Reynolds, from £220 to £240. Miss Harris, from £132 to £144. Miss Battell, from £96 to £193.
