Dressed in khaki a man named Reginald Arthur Bland, a marine engineer, was. placed in a chair by the side of the dock at Westminster, charged with causing grievous bodily harm to his brother Harold Paul Bland, also a marine, by partially severing a toe on his left foot with a a chopper.

Detective-Sergeant Purkiss * said Bland had been brough from King George Hospital, Waterloo, where his brother was still under treatment.- The two men were found in a collapsed condition at Victoria District Station. They had their boots off, and were bleeding profusely from the feet.

It was then stated that prisoner had chopped off one of his toes with a chopper, and had partially severed a toe on his brother's foot. In a dazed 1 way, prisoner said "Yes, I must have done it. I don't know what made me. We were under orders for abroad, and it has worried me." A remand was ordered, defendant be. ing carried out of court.
