Woodville races were begun yesterday and are being concluded to-day. The weather on the-opening day was fine but a trifle on the bleak side. The racing was excellent and the fields fairly large. . Beltane, the favourite, finished fourth, arid Settler— who seems to be going off—fifth.

Multaine won the Wahnti Hfiek Race: Lady Edith second and WcodlarJ: third.

A fine stamp of a horse in Parisian Diamond beat ten other 'runners in the County Hack (6 furlongs.) The Foxton horse Foeman was second and Splendidus third. Mahzoltov, who was backed as if he could not lose, ran

fourth. Lady Middleton won nicely in the last distance of the President's Handicap (seven furlongs), but- the topweight, Goldstream, who ran second, met with' interference. Thrace, an imported (Victorian) horse showed a rare turn, of pace in the Victoria Hack Handicap, which li© won by a heck from Lord'Laddo. 'Firing Line led most of the way, and finished third.

The top-weight, Form-up, won the Telephone 'Handicap, the places being filled by Sheila and Princess Moutoa.
