N.Z. FARMERS CO-OPEIIATIVE DISTRIBUTING COMPANY, LIMITED. WEEKLY REPORT. Wellington, Feb. 9. Supplies of potatoes have fallen off to some extent and as there is a good demand prices are (inn. The position cf the wheat market is at present is very uncertain. Recent prices quoted remain firm. Maize is dull. Fair business is being done in oats and prices show a slightly upward tendency. Pollard and bran are unchanged. There is a fair demand for dressed pork recent prices being maintained. Eggs are very scarce and last week's prices remain firm. Poultry is in good demand—realising fair prices.
Vegetables.--First class lines of green peas are in- good demand at high rates. Choice cauliflowers are in ,cho;ice supply and are (idealising satisfactory prices. . Cabbages are low in price. French beans are offering freely and selling at fair rates. Only good lettuce meets keen competition. Turnips and parsnips are selling freely at satisfactory prices. Spring onions meet ready sale.
Fruit.—Stone fruit from Nelson and Hawkes Bay continue t-o arrive in considerable quantities, and prices far plums nectarines and peaches are lower. The apricot season ds drawing to a close and there is keen competition for the few choice lines arriving. Greengages are in short supply and bring good prices. During the week tomatoes have been plentiful and prices realised have been fair but today shows a marked improvement. Grapes are in very good demand. NGATEA SALE. The Farmers' Auctioneering Company held a good sale on Thursday at iNlgatea (iWaikato). Over • 500 head of cattle was yarded, and l with few exceptions all changed hands. The competition was keen for fat and forward cattle. Fat steers made from £15 10s to £18; fat cows £11 15s to £12 17s 6d (large yearling); store steers from 2J to 3 year old, £11 15s to £12 6s; a line of 50 2J year-olds made £11 17s 6d; empty heifers £7 17s to £8 126 6d ; store cows from £7 12s 6d to £10; breeding ewes, fresh full-mou-thed, £1 10s 6d; woolly lambs to 225; hulls 7gns to llgns; yearlings to 18montlis steers, £8 5s to £9 2s 6d.
