At the Suprtnie Court a verdict of not guilty was returned in the case of Tim Troy, Maurice Costeiio and Joseph William Scott, charged with conspiracy to cheat Alfred Crossley of £52 while playing a game of poker. WHEAT PRICES. Christchuxch, Feb. 6. In ■ addition to the information already telegraphed oil the subject ol prices fixed for wheat, the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald stated to-day that it was intended to guarantee wheat growers os 5d per bushel in respect of next year's crop, or at the Government's discretion 6s IGd, PORT ADELAIDE SUNK. Wellington, Feb. 6. The manager of the Commonwealth and Domain Line has been advised that the Port Adelaide, formerly the lndrapura, has been sunk. The passengers and crew were saved. ADDIN'GTON MARKET'. Christchurch, Feb. 7. At the Addington market there were large entries of fat cattle, store sheep and fat lambs, but a moderate supply of fat sheep. The attendance was larger than of late, especially store sheep buyers. Fat cattle were easier and. prime fat lambs were very firm prices being equal Lo :?»d In 'Jd per lb. Fat sheep, sold irregularly, but with an actual decline in prices* Store sheep were in keen demand at advanced rates, the late showery weather having improved the feed prospects. Store cattle sold well as did ._fut pigs, but store pigs were much easier.
