LEVIN CLUB WINS KINNI - BURG FEATHERS.
Twelve feathers from the bird of honor were plucked on Shannon bowl- i iug green yesterday, when a rink from Levin wrested - the Ivinniburg Feathers from the local holders. The game and the day's outing proved most enjoyable, the green being fast and true, the weather perfect, and ■ the Shannon bowlers and then - lady j supporters most hospitable. The de- . fenders weire Mitchell, Gibson, Fargil er and Galland (skip), and the chal- j lenge rink consisted of Roe, Kirk, j Porteous and Pollock (skip). At the j tenth head the score stood: Levin 13, j Shannon 6, and thereafter Levin went ahead steadily until the sixteenth head. Shannon scored in the next five heads, but Levin eventually won by 23 points to 11. The Feathers were handed to the winning skip by Mr Gibson, vice-president of the Shannon Club, who expressed a hope that Levin would hold them until Shannon could come to Levin to win them "Back. Mr F. G. Roe, vice-president of Levin dub, made a suitable acknowledgment, and expressed a hope that Shannon would be represented at the gaslight tourney in Levin this month.
A second rink from Levin—Alexander, Bertram, Brown -and BawdenHarris (skip) played a friendly game against Gardner, Bilderbeck, Gunning and Stephenson (skip). The final scores read: Levin 29, Shannon 15. The players exchanged cheers before leaving the green, and 1 united in a hearty round for the ladies of the club, whose dainty afternoon tea was greatly appreciated.
