PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 16 of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Hoi'owhenua County Council at a special meeting held on the 13th day of January, 1917, adopted a Special Order authorizing the (raising of a loan of £500 for the purpose of surveying, acquiring, fencing and constructing a road in the 'Heights Road Extension Special Difctrict, the cost of raising such* loan to be paid for out of the loan. ' . A copy of the Special Order (which will be submitted for confirmation at a meeting of the Horowhenua County Council to ')o held on the 10th day of February, 1917) together with a description of the boundaries of the above-mentioned Special Rating District, may be inspected at the County Office, Levin, during office hours. "PURSUANT to section 13 of the Municipal Coroporations Amendment Act ; 1913, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not Jess than onefifth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor, praying that the said area may be constituted a borough under the Muncipal Corporations Act, 1908, by name the Borough o.f Shannon. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to o:r petitions against the proposed constitution within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to bo addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
