However, there is still an excellent demand. Wheat is firm at recent rates and fail' bits!ncs.s passing. Maizo is slow. Fair business is being done in oats and recent prices being maintained. Pollard and bran show no change. There is a fair demand for dressed pork which is now in bettor supply, prices being slightly lower. Eggs a're scarce and remain firm at recent rates. Poultry is in good demand, realising fair prices. Linseed oil cake meal for stock feeding is being used in increasing quantities with excellent results " Vegetables.—Green pcais are in better demand, and prices have improved. French beans are eagerly bought up. Cabbages are lower in price owing to largely increased supplies. Only a few good lines of cauliflower are offering and these meet with keen competition. There is an excellent demand for first-class lettuce. There is a fair demand for carrots, turnips and parsnips. Rhubarb is slow of sale. Spring onions, mint and parsley are selling readily, and there is a fair demand for swedes. Fruit.—Fruit arriving daily from Motueka and Hawke's Bay is of good quality and meets ready sale. Apricots, peaches and Burbai'ik plums sho\v an improvement, and prices are good. Only small quantities of greengages are offering and prices a're satisfactory. Choice tomatoes are in excellent demand with good prices. There is a keen enquiry for grapes.
