Knew His Sydney
Fear of the law relating to contempt of court prevents the name of the central figure in this story being mado ] public. li anybody suspects from the description that ho is a Supreme Court judge of dignified 'appearance, who sits in a court not far from King-street that's no D my fault. One afternoon last week, as lie left his chambers and walked towards the tram-stop, a youngster of about 14 stopped him, and holding out a package resplendent with all tho seals of a Government department inquired: "Where does this bluko hang out. mister?" His Honor, glancing at the package, discovered that it was addressed to himself, and was one that- he had been waiting for all the afternoon. Genially lie (lug one hand down for a shilling and held the other out for the pack age. "That's for me, sonny," Tie said. "I'll take it." But jtlie youth hadn't spent 14 years or thereabouts in Sydney for nothing. . "JJlime, you must take a man for a mug. Wot a're yer, a spieler?" was his* only comment, as he passed on in towards tho court. —Sydney Sun.
