POWER CONSERVATION

At the monthly council meeting, held at Cromwell last Thursday night, Cr Austin said that a lot of people in Cromwell Avere at a loss just how they could conserve power.

Neon signs, he said, were a bad advertisement if trying to save power, and something should be done about them, together with the street lights. It is not so much the power saved as the example set, said Cr Austin. The Mayor was asked to discuss this matter at the meeting of the Otago Central Electric Power Board this month.
