Upper Clutha Young Farmers

The Upper Clutha Young Farmers’ Club held a field day at Wanaka ShoAv Grounds on April 29. Mr Lin Mofris, advisory member, Avas responsible for organising the day. Mr John Hunt advisory president. The main Avas the Judging Competition, in Avhich each competitor had to judge five sections . Mr G. Burden, judge for Merinos. (:i Mr P. Watson, judge for Rom-

neys. Mr P. Smith, judge for coavs. Mr W. Studholme, judge for horses. Mr Lin Morris, judge for seeds. This section, Avhich called for a very varied knoAvledgc of farming practice, resulted in ken competition. Mr Arthur Scaife 1 Mr Hunter Kingan 2 Mr Jim RoAvley 3 Sheep-guessing: Mrs J. Kane and Mr lan Kane 1 (equal). At the conclusion of the gathering Mr E. HoAvat gave a talk in diagnosis of tuberculosis in cows.
