Annual Meeting of Queenstown R.S.A.

There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Queenstown branch of the Returned Services, Association held recently. The report showed that the branch had been very active during the year and that the financial position was satisfactory. The president, before retiring, thanked the committees for their co-operation during the year. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— President, Mr W. Smith- vice-presi-

dents —Messrs A. Inglis, J. Bagrie, J. McDonald, A. Curtis, R. J. Fuller, D. Cosgrove, O. F. Wheatley, G. Jones; general committee —Messrs L. G. Lynch, R. Anderson, J. Murdock, A. Curtis, D. Cosgrove, G. Jones, H. Templeton, H. Topeiss; social committee —Messrs J. Taylor, L. Forde, F. Lucas, J. Adams, V. McMillan; secretary, Mr W. K. Hayward; auditor, Mr C. H. McHay; marshall of parades, Mr O. F. Wheatley.

It was decided to send letters of appreciation to the band, the speaker at the Anzac service, Mr D. H. Cockburn, the Girl Guides, the school, and Mrs G. Jones for assistance in the Poppy Day collection. £2 is to be donated to the band.
