ROTARY

Opportunity was taken at the weekly meeting of the Queenstown Rotary Club to say farewell to Mr Level Evans, who was shortly to leave for Stirling. President Robins spoke of Mr Evans’s activities as chairman of the Community Service Committee, and Mr Warren referred to his membership of the Queenstown Beautifying Society, which was sponsored by the club. Dr Anderson paid a tribute to Mr Evans’s ability as the representative of the Otago Central E.P. Board in Queenstown over the past four years. Mr Evans replied giving a resume of the community service activities, particularly in respect of restoring the burnt-out area between the one and twomile creeks. The overseas toast, “ Edinburgh,” Scotland, was given by Mr R. J. Fuller and duly honoured.
