QUEENSTOWN The Mayor of Queenstown, Dr W. A. Anderson, entertained Sir John Falconer and Lady Falconer to afternoon tea at the Bowling Club kiosk, last Tuesday. * * * Mr and Mrs C. H. McKay returned on February 31 after spending a pleasant holiday with their daughter, Mrs Gardiner. * * * Mr and Mrs R. Erasmuson, of Bluff, are spending a holiday in the camping ground. sfs * * Mr and Mrs W. Weatherburn, of Mataura, are earavaning on the camping ground for a short vacation. * * • Mr and Mrs D. Lylie have been spending a holiday with Mrs Lylie’s sister and will be returning to Glenorchy at the end of the week. * * * Mr F. Miller, chief reporter of the Southland Daily News, who is writing the history of Lake County, recently gave a radio talk entitled “ History of Wakatipu.” Mrs Merchispn has returned to her residence at Queenstown. She has been at Garston for some time. * * * Recent guests at the White Star Hotel, Queenstown, include: Wm. Anderson, Alloa Scotland; P. S. Bryan, Perth, Australia; Harold Rogers, Cook Islands; Miss M. Philpott, Sydney; Mrs N. Bace, Sydney; M. Thumber, Melbourne; E. Buckley, R. A. Newman, R. L. Boyd, Mr and Mrs J. Barlett all of Auckland; A. 8. Roller, L. F. Robinson and M. Gibson of Wellington. ARROWTOWN Mr and Mrs M. Dickson and family left Arrow on Saturday for Temuka, where Mr Dickson is taking over the Royal Hotel. * * * Miss Betty Scott was a passenger for Temuka on Saturday last. * * * Mr and Mrs R. Johnston who have been the guests of Mrs M. Scott for a few weeks returned to Christchurch on Monday morning. * * * Mr and Mrs A. S. Doig, of Christchurch, are on a visit to Mrs J. Doig, Arrowtown. ♦ ♦ ♦ Miss Clements and Mr J. Doig, Christchurch spent a holiday with Mrs J. Doig, Arrowtown. <s * ♦ Mrs J. Reid (Reidhaven) returned to her home from north on Thursday evening. GLENORCHY Mr C. Paulin is visiting his parents Mr and Mrs G. Paulin. J • • * Mr and Mrs Ambrose, Gore, are visiting Mr and Mrs R. Elliot. ♦ * ♦ Mr J. Hunter, Nightcaps, is visiting Mr and Mrs J. Beattie. * * * Mr and Mrs T. Thomson are visiting Dunedin. * * * Mr L. Bryant returned last week after visiting Southland. * * * Mrs G. Shaw, Elfin Bay is visiting Dunedin.
