SOUTHLAND WINS CHALLENGE SHIELD The first rink match for the Wakatipu-Sfouthland Challenge Shield took place on the local greens on Saturday. The shield was very kindly presented to the Southland club by Mr P. Steans and will be competed for annually in Queenstown. Four rinks a side took part in the match. The aggregate scores were: Southland 187, Wakatipu 138—a win of 49 points for the visitors. At the conclusion of the match Mr C. Smart, vice-president of the Wakatipu club thanked the donor of the shield and congratulated the Southland club on its win. Mr P. Steans replied, !
