New Breed of Sheep.

The deterioration of high countrygrazing land for Romney sheep fcac caused the Massey Agricultural College to experiment with the lighter Cheviots and Cheviot-Romney cross. The results are most encouraging in that higher lambing percentages and lower death rates in lambs and sheep are reported. A Scottish William Young, toured the Dominion with a farmers’ delegation and suggested the change. The lighter, lowerpriced fleece, however, may not gain the wholehearted support of the wool grower.
