Overgrown Footpaths

At the Cromwell Borough Council meeting last Thursday night, the Mayor, Mr Wm. Partridge, mentioned the untidiness of some of the streets, which are rapidly being overgrown with weeds and especially poplar sprouts. A good example of this growth of poplar sprout can be found about the school gardens. Unless the stump of a felled tree is completely killed, the shoots will reappear some distance from the trunk and cause a great deal of annoyance both—within the section and out the footpath or roadway. Those people who have trees on their sections should be responsible for the trenching of the trees so as to stop the spreading and growth of these suckers.
