Cromwell defeated Arrowtown in the Central Otago Rinks competition, winning two of the three games, results Cromwell names first. Summers, Ross, McGregor, Anderson (skip) lost to Stapp, Hore, Thompson, Saunders (skip) 21 —22; Craies, Partridge, Gibson, Pearson (skip) beat Gibb, Fletcher, Reed, Ogilvie (skip) 20 —17; McDonald, Chisholm, Mooney, Laurie (skip) beat J. Fletcher, Snell, R. I. Fletcher, Erridge (skip) 18—1(5. The Wilkinson Memorial Cup was at stake in this match, Cromwell winning with a margin of six points on the aggregate score. Mr Ogilvie, president of the Arrow Club with a few wellchosen remarks, handed over the cup to Mr A. Pearson, who expressed pleasure on behalf of his club in being able to take the cup to its home club. He thanked the Arrow players for the sporting manner in which they had played the match. He also thanked the Arrow ladies for the sumptuous afternoon tea. In the Singles Championship W. Hore defeated E. Thompson and R. L. Fletcher defeated G. Ogilvie. Remaining in the competition are Saunders, Snell, Fletcher, Reed, Thompson and Hore all one lifers. LADIES’ BOWLING Mrs I. B. Ritchie defeated Mrs W. Given; Mrs H. McLean defeated Mrs C. Walker. For the Silver Buttons Mesdames Summers and Given defeated Shaw and Walker; Mesdames Summers and Given defeated McLean and Sanders.
