Tramper Pans £2O Nugget

A young tramper who arrived at Queenstown after hiking from the West Coast, told the Mail of his experiences with an elderly gold prospector whom he met en route. He was fascinated by the patience and care the prospector was taking in his panning and excited when he saw gold gleaming in the bottom of the pan. The prospector said he Avould give him all that he obtained from one shovel of dirt from the claim. As luck would have it, he is now the proud owner of a gold nugget valued at about £2O.
