TRUCK CAPSIZES

THREE MEN INJURED

Returning to Arrow town from Queenstown on Now Year’s morning, a 3-ton motor truck driven by David William Nicol, jnr., minor, of Ohai, left tlie road and capsized over the bank near the Lower Shotovor public hall. There wore seven men in the truck and three of them suffered injuries necessitating their removal to the Drankton Hospital. The injured men wdre: —Donald lan Nicol, aged 25 years, severe body bruises, Arthur Guttery, aged 20 years, lacerations to arm, both miners of Ohai, and John Mcßae, aged 24 years, of 317 Thames street, Oamaru, severe body bruises.

All members of the party were camped at Arrowtowu, They had attended a dance at Queenstown and were returning to Arrowtowu at about 4 n. m . when the mishap occurred. The vehicle took a three-quarter turn, coming to rest on its side. Very little damage was done to the truck.

Dr W. Anderson, Queenstown, was called to the scene and conveyed the injured men to the hospital. Guttery has since been discharged, while Nicol and Mcßae are reported to be making satisfactory progress.
