WANAKA’S MARGIN Playing Wanaka in the Otago Central Pinks Competition on the Arrowtown green on Saturday, the Arrowtown Club lost two of the three games. The play was very even on all games, and in one game an extVa head had to be played. For the Wilkinson Memorial Cup, however, Arrowtown were one up in the aggregate, and so retained the cup. Scores (Wanaka skips first) were: J. Perrow 25, E. Saunders 23; R. Stevenson 19, G. Ogilvie 23; E. Walker 16, A. Erridge 15. Aggregate: Arrowtown 61, Wanaka 60. An unofficial Rinks game was also played, when J. Reid (A.) lost to K. Halliday (WO 17—16. During the week a rink from Queenstown, skipped by W. Nelson, won a match for the Coleby Bowl, the score being: Nelson (Queenstown) 25, Ogilvie (Arrowtown) 19. The first round of the Singles Championship for the Dewar Cup has been completed. Nairn defeated Henderson, B. Fletcher defeated Reed, Erridge defeated Stapp, Snell defeated Gibb, Ogilvie defeated Murphy, Saunders defeated Hore, E. Thompson defeated W. H. Thompson, and J. Fletcher defeated Dalrymple. The second round is to bo completed by December 21.
