The Queenstown W.D.P.P. closed their year with a social party in the Park last Friday afternoon. The winners of competitions held were Mrs Thomas and Mrs Walker. „ A letter was received from Miss Hamilton, president, extending Christmas greetings to members. Greetings were also received from Mrs Charles, provincial president. During the afternoon Mrs Doughtery thanked the secretary, Barbara Sutherland, for the additional work she had done for the branch during the war years, and on behalf of the members presented her with a floral spray and an electric water jug. Miss Sutherland suitably replied. After an enjoyable afternoon tea had been served beside the pretty water lily pond* Christmas greetings were exchanged.
