Church Bazaar Proves Success
Young folk especially were well catered for at the Presbyterian Church bazaar held at Arrowtown on Wednesday, November 20. The secretary, Miss Methven, and her willing helpers deserve credit fbr a successful function. Stalls and holders were:—Tea rooms, Mrs W. B. Gibb, Mrs J. Jenkins, Miss Edwards. Mrs I. Cowie, Miss B. Scott; work'stall, Mrs Doig, Miss White, Mrs J. M. Butel; produce, Mrs G. Hansen, Miss Payne, Miss F. Hansen; sweets, cordials, etc., Airs G. Ogilvie, Mrs W. Hore, Mrs H. McLean; cake, Mrs S. Stevenson, Mrs D. G. Paterson; children’s, Mrs K. Ferguson and children; ice cream, Messrs V. Hansen and P. Ayson. Competition winners were:—Mrs Miller and Miss Terry; Mrs H. McLean, Mrs E. L. Thompson; Mr D. Dennison ; Miss Janice Torrence, Wellington; Mr Peter Ayson; Mr M. Adams. Children’s flower competitions resulted; —Bunch flowers, W. Summers 1, S. Given 2; Men’s buttonhole, M. Swann 1, F. Hansen 2; spray, W. Hore 1.
