Arrowtown Bowlers Win Rinks Matches

Arrowtown defeated Queenstown in all three games in the Otago Central rink competition at the Arrowtown green on Saturday last. Following are the scores (Arrowtown names first) A. C. Erridge 29, A. Tripp 17; F. J. Saunders 30. W. McGinncs 16; G. Ogilvie 20, W. Nelson 16. The Wilkinson Memorial Cup was worn by Arrowtown with an aggregate of 79 to Queenstown’s 49. The cup was formally handed over to the president of the Arrowtown Club by Mr W. Nelson, president of the Queenstown Club. Mr Nelson thanked the Arrowtown women for an enjoyable afternoon tea. Mr Ogilvie suitably replied. The Arrowtown rink withstood a challenge for the Coleby Bowl from a Queenstown rink, winning the match by 30 to 13. G. Ogilvie skipped the Arrowtown rink and A. Tripp led Queenstown. The holders of the Perns, G. Ogilvie and D. Thompson, withstood a challenge from R. T. Fletcher and A. Gibson, winning the match 30 to 12.
