MAGISTRATE’S COURT
Queenstown Hearings Mr A. E. Bobbie, 8.M., presided at a recent sitting of the local Magistrate's Court. For breaches of the Transport rfegulations, Edwaijd Leon Bailey was convicted and fined 10s and 10s coats for parking a motor vehicle so as to cause obstruction. In a second charge against the same defendant for parking in a prohibited area in Qnefin*town similar fines and coats were imposed. Charles William Hewitt was charged that on May 31, 1947, at the Cromwell aerodrome, he did operate a Pereival Proctor aeroplane for the purpose of flights without having a certificate of safety. Hewitt, who elected to be dealt with summarily, was convicted and fined £lO with costs 10s. In a debt case, J. E. Home v. J. 8. Gibson, judgement was given for £2O with court costs £1 3s and solicitor’s fee £1 11s.
