QUEENSTOWN R.S.A.
Guest Speaker from Dunedin Mr 0. L. Ferens, of Dunedin, was the guest speaker at the quarterly meeting of the Queenstown branch, held on Thursday last. Mr Ferens gave members a most instructive address upon the set-up of the organisation and stressed the important part which the association played in all national and local activities, not only as a means of guarding the interests of returned service personnel, but to take an active part in the post-war reconstruction of social and economic matters. He dealt with the subjects of patriotic funds, rehabilitation, pensions, and housing. The president, Mr James McDonald, thanked Mr Ferens for his address. Other business included the arranging for an annual ball to be held on the first Wednesday in the August holidays of each year. A social hour was enjoyed by all at the conclusion of the business meeting.
