QUEENSTOWN ROTARY

Visit of District Governor Rotarian P. Anderson of the Dunedin Club was the speaker at the weekly luncheon of Rotary. The speaker dealt with the subject of the formation of Magazine Committees within the clubs, the idea being to foster the more effective use of the t( Rotarian by placing copies in the hands of visitors and members of the community. Visitors were Rotarians F. Meek (Dunedin), Dr K. J. Davies and L. Gray (Invercargill). An invitation to attend the charter meeting of the newly formed Milton club was accepted. A communication from the District Governor, Charles Greenslade (Dunedin) complimented the local club upon its decision to hold weekly meetings over the Christmas and New A ear periods as it would afford many visiting Rotarians the opportunity of maintaining their attendance and activity in Rotary. President R. C. Robins announced that the District Governor would make his official visit to the Queenstown Club on Monday, November 10, when the usual meeting and a special Club Assembly would be held. Arrangements were niade for the Alexandra Club’s visit to Queenstown on November 25. Rotarian John Gilmour gave the overseas club toast to the Rotary club of Stockholm, Sweden, when he gave impressions of his visit to that club im 1989.
