To Soothe Ear-ache

It is very soothing to have somethin" warm to rest against the painful side of the head. In an emergency, warm table salt will do very well. Fill a muslin bag about five inches square with the well-warned salt, and place it as comfortably near as you can. This will retain heat for many hours and give the little one time to get off to sleep. Test the heat of the bag before applying it near her delicate skin. The simplest way to do this is to put the heated bag against the inner side of vour wrist.
