OBITUARY

Mrs A. Mclnnes

The late Mrs Mclnnes was one of a family of six who hailed from Campbelltown, Argyleshire, Scotland, and arrived in New Zealand with their parents, Mr and Mrs J. MacCallum, in 190 G. The family settled in Dunedin in the same year, and deceased was married in 1911. ( Mr and Mrs Mclnnes took up residence in- Queenstown 25 years ago, when the former was appointed to the position of engineer in the Lake Wakatipu service. Two daughters were born of the union, Mrs H. Sinclair, Balclutha, and Miss Mary Mclnnes, who is living at the town of Alton, Hampshire, England. The deceased was an ardent member of St. Andrew’s Church, being a prominent worker in many of its activities, notably the P.W.M.U., the choir and the Busy Bees, which she inaugurated. Her activities also found scope in the Red Cross and the women’s branch of the Federated Farmers. During the last Great War she worked unceasingly in providing comforts for the soldiers. Of strong Christian-like principles, the late Mrs Mclnnes’s life was made up in performing good deeds. A devoted wife and mother, the deceased will be deeply mourned not only by her sorrowing husband and family, but by a wide circle of friends. She is also survived by four sisters and one brother, all of whom reside in Dunedin. The funeral took place on Saturday and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives. The burial services at the residence and graveside were performed by the Rev. Mr Hume, Lumsden. Among a large number of floral tributes were tokens from St. Andrew’s

Church, the local branch of the W.D.F.F., the Bed Cross, and the Wakatipu Bowling Club.
