W.D.F.F.
Tlie October meeting of the Arrowtown branch of the W.D.F.F. was held at the Gibbston School on Saturday, the IStli inst., when Mrs Summers presided over a very large gathering of members and visitors. Apologies were received from Mesdames J. Shaw. W. ITonre. G. Ogilvie and A. Reid. After correspondence was dealt with, ways and means of raising money for food for Britain were discussed and decided upon. Mr Thompson, Mayor of Arrowtown, proposed that the W.D.F.F. should expend £2O 11s, donated by Arrowtown residents, on material for parcels. but the division members desire to do more in the division itself. For the November meeting, members were asked to bring tinned goods and contribute 6d each towards postage. Arrangements were made for the division birthday party, to be held in the local hall on November 20. The offer of the Arrowtown Entertainers to provide a programme was gratefully accepted. The roll call, “ Definition of a Good Neighbour,” was contributed to by the majority of those present. Roll call for November is “ My Favourite Male Singer Over the Radio, and Two of His Songs.” The Gibbston members were warmly thanked for their hospitality, and appreciation was expressed to those whose cars were at the service of the division. The following are the results of the Big Bloom competition: —Mrs W. Saunders 1, Mrs Kinross 2, Mrs A. Scott and Mrs H. McLean (equal) 3. Small Bloom competition: Mrs G. Bowler I, Mrs C. Walker 2, Mrs R. Scott 3. A very enjoyable afternoon was terminated with the singing of the National Anthem.
