DROP IN PRICES Another large offering was submitted lo the usual attendance of buyers at the sale held on October 7, when the demand was restricted, resulting in a further decline in prices. On the average, values in comparison with the previous auction, may be quoted lower as follows: — Broken, IGd to 39d; milky, 4d to 7d; summers, IGd to 13-id; spotty bucks, (id to 33M; spotty does, Id to 9d; and blood-stained grades, lOd to 30d per lb. The following is the range of prices:— Third broken, to 44d; second broken, to 71d; milky, 40d to 73d; summers, 40d to 41M; third spotty bucks, 60d to 7Gd; third spotty does, 106 d to Hid; second spotty bucks, 107 d to 118 d; second spotty does, 119 d to 131 d; winter bucks, 130 d to 140 d; winter docs, RiOd to 140(1; stained does, to 107 d; weevilly, to 20d; fatty, to 79|d; third blacks, to 36d; second blacks, to 60d; first blacks, to 140 d; third fawns, to 30d; second fawns, to 50d; first, fawns, to 82d; hare skins, to 24d; horse hair, to 491(1; goat skins, to Is 3d. The next sale is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 1947.
