R.S.A. REUNION

Large Queenstown Gathering About 70 town and district ex-ser-vicemen of World Wars I and II met in the Queenstown Parish Hall on Friday night for their annual reunion. Mh James McDonald, president of the local branch of . the R.S.A. was in the chair and welcomed the servicemen who represented a diversity of units and regiments. The usual toasting, songs and story made for a very enjoyable evening. Before engaging on the programme a vote of sympathy was passed with the chairman, whose brother, Mr A. • McDonald, died recently in Christchurch. The following toasts were honoured: Ist N.Z.E.F., W. Hayward, responded to by George Jones; 2nd N.Z.E.F., W. D. Warren—Alex, Robins; visiting assocations. O. Wheatley—Mr Birss (Kingston); George Murchison (Gars : ton) —G, Douglas (Arrowtown); nurses, Alan Inglis—D. R. Rowe. Vocal items were given by Messrs Eric Hopwood, James McDonald, Alex. Robins and W. Smith. Mr T. Hopwood was the accompanist.
