FAREWELL AT LUGGATE
Mr and Mrs W. Reid
The Liiggate Hall was filled to capacity on Tuesday evening last week when residents of Luggate and the surrounding district met to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs ty. Reid, who have now left the district to retire in Timaru. The large crowd present testified to the esteem in which the guests of the evening were held. Mr Reid had been a resident of Luggate for over 40 years. As manager of the. Luggate Flour Mill for William Reid and Sons he was well known throughout the district for his business ability. Mr Stan. Kane, Luggate, on behalf of those present, Avished Mr and Mrs Reid every happiness in their retirement and presented them Avith a monetary gift from the residents, Mr Ralph Reid accepting the gift on his parents’ behalf. Mr Studholme,’Wanaka, also spoke as one of the older residents Avho had known the couple for a long time. During I lie evening songs Averc sung by Mr and Mrs BroAvn. Music for dancing was supplied by McNamara’s Band, Cromwell.
