Arrowtown Men’s Friendly Golf Match Against Cromwell

A friendly golf match between Arrowtown and Cromwell took place recently, Arrowtown winning by nine games to six. Results (Arrowtown names first) are: — Women.—Mrs Douglas lost to Mrs Hosking 10 and 8; Mrs Ogilvie lost to Mrs Waldron 7 and 6; Mrs Swann lost to Mrs Sanders 6 and 5; Mrs Given lost to Mrs Campbell 5 and 3; Mrs Walker lost to Mrs Burke 3 and 2; Mrs Rea defeated Mrs Berry 3 up; Mrs Summers defeated Miss Jelley 2 and 1; Mrs Erridge lost to Miss Bell 7 and 6. Men. —Thompson defeated Holmes 2 and 1; Partridge defeated Connelly 1 up; Lynch and • Waldron all square; Stapp defeated Ferguson 4 and 3; Douglas defeated Mitchell 1 up; Vezey defeated Stumbles 2 up; Dougherty defeated Cocks 4 up; Ogilvie defeated Jelley 4 and 3. Mr Connelly, president of the Cromwell club, thanked the Arrowtown teams for the enjoyable games and the afternoon tea supplied by the women. Mr Partridge suitable replied.
