EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

Sir, —On the outskirts of our town there are signs giving the speed limits within the borough area. Yet on on several clays of the week, we see a certain speed hog, in a lorry tear through the shopping area of the town at my estimate of 45 miles an hour.' Apart from danger to life and limb, tliis vehicle creates a nuisance in the dust it leaves behind in its mad rush to its destination. I fail to see the necessity for freight lorries to use the main streets of our town, because I understand they do not undertake the delivery of loaded goods to the business people. I am, etc,, Welcome Nugget.
