OBITUARY

Mrs Millicent Robins

The late Mrs Robins, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs W. G. Wright, Mataura, on September 16, was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Wm. Cable, very old and esteemed residents of Queenstown. Mrs Robins was predeceased by her husband just on two years ago. A family of four daughters and four sons will mourn the loss of a devoted mother. They are Mrs W. G. Wright (Mataura), Mrs H. Buchanan (Queenstown), Mrs J. Mant (Nelson), and- Miss Shirley Robins (Dunedin), Mr J. Robins (Wellington), Messrs R. C. and W. Robins (Quenstown), and Mr Alex. Robins (Lower Shotover). The late Mrs Robins was a devoted adherent of St. Peter’s Church and a member of the Ladies’ Guild. She was also a member of the Mothers’ Union. Of a gentle and loving disposition, the deceased made many friends in the town and district and the news of her passing will be received with much regret. The funeral, which took place on Friday, following a short service which was held in St. Peter’s Church. During the service one of the deceased’s favourite hymns, “Abide With Me,” was sung. The acting vicar, the Rev. J. Cable, referred in touching terms to the deceased’s association with the church’s activities. Among many beautiful wreaths were tributes from the Mothers’ Union, St. Peter’s vestry, the Rotary Club, and the P. and T. Department, Wellington.
