Wanaka Bowling Club Has Successful Season
A successful season and a satisfactory financial position was indicated in the report of the Wanaka Bowling Club received at the annual meeting held in the Wanaka Hall recently. Over 30 members were present. It was with regret that the club had to record the deaths of two of its members, Mr John Faulks and Mr George Burrows. The women’s section of the club had lost a valuable member in Mrs Burrows, who had now left the district. Officers elected were:—President, Mr A. C. Paterson; vice-presidents, Messrs H, Halliday and W. Eobertson; secretary, Mr Perrow; treasurer, Mr A. Eichmond; auditor, Mr E. Walker; official coach, Mr A. Wilson; committee .—Messrs E. Stevenson, E. Howat, B. Adamson, 0. Templeton, J. Gardiner, W. Studholme, M. Miller; handicappers and selectors, Messrs M. Miller, F. Norris and E. Stevenson; delegates to Centre, Messrs A. C. Paterson and J. Perrow. It was decided to enter three rinks in the Centre fixtures and to hold opening day on October 25 instead of Labour Day, as had been the case in past years.
