Alexandra Beats Wakatipu in Rugby Game at Queenstown

Alexandra defeated the Wakatipu Sub-union team on the local ground on Saturday last by 17 points (four tries one of which was converted and a penalty kick) to 12 (four penalty goals). Alexandra, though winning by only four points, played much better football than their opponents. ' The backs received more ball from the scrum and were seen in several good passing rushes. Wakatipu scored 3 points to Alexandra’s 8 points in the first spell. The local side held their opponents better in the second spell but they never crossed the line. J, Allan was very successful in his kicking for Wakatipu. For Alexandra, tries were scored by Brent, Washington Lunn and O’Reilly one. of which was converted and J. lies kicked a penalty goal. J. Allan kicked all Wakatipu’s penalties.
