STOVED POTATOES Six or 8 potatoes, 1 tablespoon bacon fat or dripping, pieces of cooked meat, salt and pepper, 1 breakfast cup of hot water, | onion. Prepare and slice the potatoes thickly and chop up the onion. Melt the dripping in a pan and toss the potatoes and onions in it. Add the water, season, and cook gently till the vegetables are cooked but not broken. When the potatoes are nearly ready, add the cooked meat cut up in dice. Note: Cooked vegetables, such as carrots, turnip or peas, could be added.
